Same view spot two different ways.

Driving north, leaving the city it all falls away so quickly. In slight
hours the towers of downtown turn into the plains and mountains of British
Columbia. Snow on the side of the streets, hawks, ravens, eagles, tons of
birds.
With a Google version of the classic "Krusteez©" map I only seemed to lose
about an hour of time lost, heading towards osoyorus (which I thought was
cool since they make an oddly amazing Bordeaux blend there that is said to
rival Bordeaux) until I realized it was the wrong way, and I should be
heading towards Kamloops. Revelstoke was a welcome sight. My eyes were heavy
from focusing on driving.
I spent some of the time listening to Steinbeck's "Travels With Charley".
Steinbeck was so prescient, in 1962 he was already warning about our
wasteful culture, mass media, and homogenization of culture. He also makes
amazing comments about thinking while driving, and life in general. Plus he
has a poodle.
