$300 lunch
300 dollars for lunch is rough, sure I’ve spent that much on lunch before, only twice actually, French Laundry and L’Arpege, but this was a lunch that was supposed to save me money. I made tuna salad the night before, like a good frugal person, then I brought it to work. I threw the container of tuna salad into my bag, that also had my camera in it. Then my camera attacked the tuna salad. In the short time it takes to drive from Greenlake to Belltown, the tuna juice (yuck) seeped into my camera and all over my bag. I tried drying the camera out, I washed the strap and the bag and everything that was near the bag to get rid of the smell. But the camera remained dead… Today Nikon sent me a bill for 300 odd dollars to un tuna my camera. At least it will be shiny and happy and such, and I’ll be able to take photos with it soon instead of the point and shoot stuff I’ve been limited to lately. And from this I learned that I should put my food in bags before putting them in my bag with electronic devices…
