When I read this story about the Italian architect in the New Yorker I was so amused with this quote about nothing being disappointing when you are a kid. I don't know about that, maybe it
s true of Spanish kids, but for kids who grew up in the OC everything is disappointing. I can't think of anything that didn't disappoint me when I was a kid. It took me so long to learn to not be disappointed by life.
